Solar Works for Minnesota Coalition - A Solar Energy Standard will bring jobs and investment to our state, reduce our reliance on imported fossil and nuclear fuels, keep energy dollars in Minnesota, and give people and businesses more control over their electricity use.Minnesota has a vast, untapped solar energy potential that, if developed, will lead to greater energy independence and security, the creation of high-quality solar industry jobs, and help spur economic development across the state. Passing the Solar Energy Jobs Act (10% by 2030) will create over 2,000 permanent jobs in the first year after the standard is passed, and thousands of jobs over the life of the policy, according to analysis done through the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's Jobs and Economic Development Impact (JEDI) modeling software.
